APPTech’s Customer Day featured an exciting presentation from an SAP PH Expert during which the company revealed its priorities for SAP Business One in 2022 and gave insights into new innovations currently in development.

JR Barte, SAP Business One Solution Expert, said in his presentation that SAP Business One saw an “amazing bounce-back” in 2021 after the disruption of the pandemic in 2020.

He also mentioned that SAP had identified four main areas of investment in its product roadmap over the next 12 months: the B1 Web Client; localisations; extensions and integrations; and cloud operations.

 

 

 

SAP Business One 10.0 Enhancements Empower Your Business

During APPTech’s customer day event, many of the company’s clients could see the new enhancements for SAP Business 10.0 firsthand.

01. Enhancements in Approval Process SAP Business One 10.0

 

 

  • Features:

a. New setting enables approvers to update draft document in Pending status

b. Last Updated by and Last Updated On fields are now available within the Request for Generation                                    Approval form

c. Approval Status Report now contains Draft Updated By, Draft Update Date, Draft Update Time, and                              Draft Remarks fields

d. Both the authorizer and the originator can add the document for approval

e. Substitute Authorizers for approval templates are enabled when the authorizer is out of office

  • Benefits:

a. Minimizes unnecessary back and forth between authorizer and originator

b. Simplifies approval procedures and adds even more flexibility

 

02. Drill Down to G/L Account in Financial Reports

 

 

  •  Features

a. Golden arrows are added next to the account codes in financial reports allowing users to drill down into the account record within the Chart of Accounts

b. Available in Balance Sheet, Trial Balance, and Profit and Loss Statement

  • Benefits

a. Direct access to account details and account balance of relevant accounts increases usability and transparency

b. Streamlined with standard system behavior

 

03. Production Enhancements

A. Bill of Materials (BoM) Description Enhancements

 

 

  • Features:
  1. Item Description update in the term master data connected to Bill of Materials parent item will be reflected in the Bill of Materials Product Description
  2. The item and resource descriptions are editable in Bill of Materials and Production Order Components. Additionally, the Item Description can be updated via DI API
  • Benefits:
  1. Item master data record descriptions updated accordingly within the associated Bill of Materials
  2. Flexible handling of item and resource descriptions in Bill of Materials

 

B. Drill Down from BoM to Item Master Data

 

  • Features:

Direct “drill-down” to Item Master Data record now possible from the Parent Item Number

  • Benefits:
  1. More intuitive and direct navigation between Bill of Materials and Item Master Data
  2. Flexibility within navigation due to system prompt of navigation choice

 

04. Formatted Search Enhancements

  1. Formatted Search Supports Multiple Triggers

 

  • Features:

         User Define Values support multiple triggers

  • Benefits:

More possibilities and flexibility when implementing formatted searches/user-defined values

 

05. Web Client

 

Recent Innovations: Native Web Client

a. Create and update BP and item master data

b. Relationship map

c. MS SQL database servers

d. Approval process and drafts

e. User-defined field, tables, and objects

SAP Business One 10.0 key enhancements help you to manage your business more effectively, optimize your process, and reduce the cost and risk of business operations.

 

Intelligent Enterprise: The Future of Business in the Digital Age

Another topic outlined in JR’s presentation is the Intelligent Enterprise overview by Rainer Zinow, Senior Vice President and Head of SAP Midmarket Product Management. Zinow says that “the journey has already started” to integrate innovations into SAP Business One, such as Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence, which he calls “the first step.”

 

SAP is creating new technology to make its products easier to use for the business customer. The company’s Intelligent Enterprise initiatives include predictive analytics, natural language processing and robotics process automation to make business processes easier.

With these new features, JR ended its SAP Business One list of upcoming features and reminded APPTech’s clients to stay tuned for the launch. For years, SAP has always provided the best solution to its users, and this year we have seen it go beyond its limits to provide the best.
